Important Update on School Reopening in J&K: Only High and Higher Secondary School Teachers to Report Back
According to officials, there has been some confusion among teachers about when they should report back to their respective institutions after winter vacation.
The officials have clarified that only the teaching staff of high and higher secondary schools need to report back on February 20th.( today)
However, there is no mention of resumption of duties for primary school teaching staff, which means that they do not have to report back on February 20th.
The primary school teaching staff may be asked to report back to their respective institutions a few days earlier to streamline things.
The School Education Department had already issued a statement in November 2022, which stated that teaching staff of high and higher secondary schools must report back to their respective schools on February 20th, 2023, so that they remain available for making arrangements regarding preparation of ensuing examinations.

The statement also noted that all teachers must remain available on demand for any online guidance of students during the vacation period. Any default on the part of the Head of the Schools or teaching staff in observance of the above schedule shall attract strict action under rules
